Born in Newcastle under Lyme in the last months of the swinging sixties, just after they landed on the moon, and Woodstock was being rigged up. It was a difficult birth for my mother as she was in Stoke on Trent at the time.
I Grew up in the "Potteries" during the depressing 70's and 80's which left me with an innate talent for creating exquisite china dinner services perfect for that Berni Inn classic of steak, chips and peas followed by Black Forest Gateaux. All the while playing Duran Duran, The Cure, AC/DC and Guns 'n' Roses in the background. It also left me with a penchant for Les Paul guitars and Marshall amplifiers. I needed to escape!!
Having spent the first decade of my working life defending the nation in Her Majesty's Royal Navy, I got tired of the fact that people kept shooting at me and got a proper job with those new fangled computer things and that soft wear stuff they put on.
Ten years on from that career change, it was time for another shift in direction, but sadly a need to pay the mortgage, along with a shortage of experience, prevents me from being a full time fashion photographer chasing supermodels across the globe.
So, we shoot "normal" people instead, and it's way more fun.
